The Active Retirement Group meets one day each week in the centre and many activities ie. bowling, stretch and movement classes etc. are provided. We also provide this group with assistance in relation to administration requirements, and recently assisted in the development, publication and marketing of their second book “Stories of our Childhood”, which sold not only locally but also overseas. The Centre also assists with arranging Tea Dance Parties on Sunday afternoons for the Group which is also their way of fundraising. The Centre is very proud of this particular group.

This group meets at the Centre every Friday night at 8.00pm religiously. So, if you fancy your chances, why not come along...

Women’s Card Group

This group meets up for a game of cards every second Tuesday throughout the Winter months and consists of 10 members. The night includes Tea/coffee and home baking and a chance to socialise and play cards outside of the public bar setting.

Catering for Community Bus

Many of our elderly are brought into Cahersiveen town every Friday morning from rural areas outside Cahersiveen on the Community Bus. Before the Community Bus leaves town after lunchtime, the elderly enjoy tea/coffee and scones at the Centre whereby they can meet, converse and relax before their journey home. This may be the only chance someone from The Glen may meet up with a friend from Kells (17 miles difference) during the week and this service is proving very popular with our users.
